About the author
Susie Blue
Susie Blue is somebody's granddaughter first. She grew up on stories told at kitchen tables and church suppers: who married whom, who brought the best pie, who showed up when it counted. Now she writes about people who come home, the families waiting for them, and the faith that holds a family together when nobody is sure how to say what needs saying.
Long before she wrote a novel, she wrote textbooks. As Shauna French, M. Ed., she teaches and writes for students. She is the author of The Fabric of Life: Understanding Human Development Across the Lifespan (Kendall Hunt, 2025), a college psychology text now in revision for its second edition. As a 2025–2026 Santa Monica College Faculty Fellow, she also published ECE 28: Transitional Kindergarten Practicum (2025), a free open textbook for early childhood educators. Years of studying how people grow, age, and remember led her to fiction, and now she tells those stories as Susie Blue.
She writes because she believes the world could use more stories with strong values and a real Christian heart, stories that leave readers a little closer to God and to each other.
