In revision

Mags Carter meant to visit. Every month there was a reason not to: work, the long trip from Nashville, the easy belief that there'd be time later. Then dementia began taking her grandmother Blue, the woman who raised her, a little at a time, until the day Blue no longer knew her. Now Blue is gone, and Mags never got to say goodbye to the woman who remembered her.

Back in Calloway, Texas, for the funeral, Mags is thirty and running low on prayers. She inherits a craft shop called Something Blue, still full of Blue's half-finished projects, and an old Appaloosa she won't ride. She also has to share a roof again with her mother, Judy Lee, a woman who says little, snaps her spearmint gum, and stayed through every hard day Mags missed.

With the church ladies of the Wednesday-night circle, a granny square promised "by first frost," and an old friend who is grieving too, Mags has to decide whether to sell the shop or open its doors again. And she has to find out whether a mother and a daughter can forgive each other for the years they weren't there, and whether the God who never forgets her is still writing her story.
